  Wall Monitoring
Posted by: ronan.kelly - 10-02-2019, 10:18 PM - Forum: Analysis - No Replies

I have being using Wall Monitoring Tool for reporting Pile and Diaphragm Wall Face for verticality and clearance from design. There are a number of alterations that could be made to the tool to make it more flexible for various applications:
1. Target Deviation for lateral movement - I require to reference the scanned wall offset to a design gridline (which is parallel to but offset from design wall face). Example: design wall face is -4.5m from GL:A therefore Target Deviation (i.e. reset the 0 line for legend) would be -4.5m (setting a 0.5m scale either side of this) min deviation = -5.0m and max deviation =-4.0m. Even without a target deviation the program does not allow for a min and max deviation on the same side of the guideline (example below min dev= -5.0 max dev = -4.0, legend incorrectly runs -5 to 0 back to -4)

2. Legend in Lateral Movement Report - add legend to the lateral movement main tab to make it easily apparent what the coloured tabs represent.
3.Add Panel numbering options for the Lateral Movement Report - Enable us to create reports that reference actual pile or wall identifiers (prefix/suffix, number format, first number, increasing or decreasing)

4. Add a clean levels or undo button to the panel

  E57 Conversion failure
Posted by: johnhalifax@aimsurveys.com - 04-27-2019, 07:04 AM - Forum: Assess - Replies (3)

I have a problem with conversion of E57 files from Riscan Pro.
When conversion starts in the progress bar it says 1/1. It should say 1/30.
I have let it run for over 4 hours and it just says not responding. It appears to be trying to create 1 massive Dot file. I have used this conversion before and never had a problem.
I have looked to try and convert direct from the RSP file but that facility no longer exists.
I have exported as LAS files but they do not work with the images.

Load Aerials - Int. Ft / US Ft Shift?
Posted by: Nick Dutil - 03-13-2019, 07:21 AM - Forum: Manage - Replies (1)

Good Morning - we've been dealing with this for a couple of years now, and have always just tried to scale our TopoDOT generated aerials to existing topo drawings, but we're now running into issues where we're creating aerials for preliminary work before survey data has been collected.

We work in US survey feet (State Plane coordinates).  What we're finding is that the TopoDOT generated aerial drawings are shifted, and the amount is dependent upon where the project falls in the state plane zone.  Sometimes the shift is minimal, other times it can be over 5 feet.  It doesn't appear to be an issue with our state plane definitions within the TopoDOT Aerial tool (when using 32bit), as the shift is applied no matter what coordinate system we assign to the aerial drawing.

I realize that this may be more of a MicroStation issue than a TopoDOT issue, but was hoping that someone here has run into this already, and might have some sort of procedure to get MicroStation to make this correction.

Any advice?

TUC 19 schedule is already set but we'd live to hear from you about what new tools, processes, applications or subjects you'd like to learn about to incorporate them into our 2020 agenda!
Looking forward to your comments

Seem to be getting mixed success with this command.
Great when it works but lately it wants to make an arch in the z axis rather than in plan.  Ive played around with the ACS setting but with no result.
Anyone had this problem and know a fix?
